This protocol prevents grey market resellers from flipping hard-to-obtain watches for a profit, advertising them as “brand new in box” and/or “full stickers”. Stickers are only worth so much to the extent that a new buyer will know the watch has had some of its surfaces protected from scratches compared to a destickered one. Once the watch is sized and worn, any value of them evaporates.
